Many content creators are subject matter experts, and want to diversify their income streams. The biggest barrier I see for people is learning the software programs.
You need software skills to create videos for social media and audio files to publish podcast episodes. If you want Disney to hire you, you need a LOT of training and skill. However, if you only need to edit your own video and audio files, you only need to know the basics.
I have been in the learning and development field since 1998, and have been helping people learn software my entire career.
In the early 2000s, I was helping people through the WCB program. They were primarily tradespeople with injuries that were retraining to learn computers. They were starting at the basics, such as learning to type, and the motion to double-click a mouse. By the end of the program, they were creating simple budgets in Excel and Letters in Microsoft Word.
In the video and audio editing programs, if you can click a mouse, drag and drop files, and have some computer experience, such as the office suite, I believe you can learn the basics of editing video and audio files. Are you ready?
